Display Cake #1

This cake is going to be on display at J & B Candy shop in Abbotsford. I've wanted to try the tree, cherry blossom theme for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. The entire cake is fake, styrofoam covered in fondant with fondant and gum paste details.

Monster Eyes Cake

A fudge chocolate cake with boston cream filling, butter cream icing and the eyes are various kinds of candy (except for the main big eyes which are ping pong balls with craft eyes glued on them)

Baby asleep in a bed of leaves

My third baby shower cake. This one a fondant baby asleep in a bed of leaves and pink roses. Got to use my basket weave icing again (love doing that).

Basket Weave Baby Shower Cake

I didn't have to wait long to get to try my basket weave icing again. A company asked me to make this cake for an employee about to go on her maternity leave. The cake is chocolate with boston vream filling and of course the basket weave is vanilla butter cream icing.

X Box 360 Cake

Ok so this is officially my favorite cake so far. I had fun making this cake and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The cake underneath is chocolate with a chocolate buttercream filling. Even the controller is chocolate cake underneath.
