As with all of my son's cakes, he has made a video showing all the work that went into creating the cake.

Plum Wedding Cake
If there's one thing you have to be able to do to be a cake decorator, it's react on short notice whenever possible. This wedding cake came about after a Friday evening phone call asking if I could have a wedding cake ready for pick up in about 36 hours. In many cases I would have had to say no but as it turned out I could pull it off this time. The bride's only request was for the cake to look elegant, with sugar pearls and a small splash of plum purple to match her wedding color scheme. This is what I came up with. The cake underneath is red velvet with a cream cheese icing.

Toopy and Binoo Birthday
So here's another case of a request for a character cake where I knew nothing of the characters being asked for. I guess not having toddler age children means I'm a little out of the loop these days. Toopy and Binoo, ever heard of them? I hadn't but thanks to photos and the internet educating myself doesn't take too long.
Dairy Farmer's Wedding
Keeping with the tradition of me always getting non-traditional wedding cakes, here is a wedding where I was asked to do a cow bride and groom sitting on top of a tractor tire for the wedding cake, and fondant cow faces on cupcakes. Needless to say, the bride and groom are dairy farmers. This was such a blast to do. I was even asked by a wedding guest where I found the cow bride and groom cake toppers. I was able to proudly say I made them. My apologies about the blurry quality of some of the photos. As photographers go .... I'm a good cake decorator, lol.

Mother-In_Law's Birthday
My mother-in-law had a milestone birthday, her seventieth. A milestone
like that deserves a great cake. I'm really proud of this one. It was
nearly perfect.

A Cake for my Niece
This was a red velvet cake for my niece who turned 23. She left the design totally up to me. To be honest I prefer it when people tell me exactly what they want. When it's left up to me there are way too many ideas to choose from.

CFL Team Logos in Fondant
A client I did a Grey Cup cake for last November asked me to do all 8 C.F.L. team logos for him so he will always have the logos of the teams playing for the cake that he has at every Grey Cup party he holds every year. All the logos are on fondant and hand painted.

Quilted Pearl Wedding Cake
I was booked to do this wedding cake a year ago. It was nice to see it come to fruition. This was a nice cake to do, so elegant and a testament to the "less is more" adage. The bottom layer was a vanilla cake with a vanilla buttercream icing, the middle layer was vanilla cake with a hazelnut buttercream icing, and the top was red velvet with a cream cheese icing.

Batman!!!
My most faithful return customer asked for a Batman cake for her 2 yr old's birthday. She sent me a photo of exactly the pose she wanted and I recreated it in buttercream. I had some issues with this cake and ended up decorating it at 3 a.m. That's dedication isn't it .... isn't it???

Summer Birthday (X4)
Another big family birthday celebration. This cake had to do duty for four birthday celebrants this month. My daughter and I came up with the summer theme. Cake is carrot cake with cream cheese icing. That is why the fondant is not quite as smooth as usual. Cream cheese icing doesn't crust up as nice as buttercream.

Coors Lite Birthday Cake
So here is something different. My fist ever 3-D can cake. In this case, a Coors Lite beer can. The cake is alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake. Can is wrapped in fondant and the logo is hand-painted fondant.

100th Birthday Teapot Cake
My wife's grandma had a milestone most of us can only dream about, her 100th birthday. I was honored to make this teapot cake for the occasion. My only regret is that it didn't turn out better. The flower patterns are all hand painted, this is the first time I have done that.

Transformer Cake
One of my best customers, a multiple repeat client asked for a transformer cake for her son as well as some transformer themed cupcakes. This is what I came up with.
